Happy... whatever

Here’s to all of you out there…

A very merry Christmas, happy Hanukkah or whatever-you-celebrate. Have good time, don’t eat to much cookies or fat roast meat... :-)
Enjoy!

((This is the Christmas card I sent out to some people. Satin tree on printed cotton, with bouillion wire and beads, sewn onto cardboard.))

Adorable card! Sewn on cardboard? You must have a good machine, because mine would certainly whine even if I used metallic thread, much less sewed on cardboard. I never got my cards completed. I meant too, but it didn't happen. Merry Christmas, Claudia.

Thank you so much, Barb! And a very merry Christmas to you!

I was really afraid I wouldn't finish the cards in time, but then again, I seem to work best when I'm under pressure... night shifts included ;-)
(Not that I would really like it that way.)

By the way, it's a rather old sewing machine, and I was quite sceptical concerning the cardboard sewing thing. I just tried, and it worked. I had a few critical moments with the satin, though, it always wanted to slip out of place until I glued it to the cotton fabric with a glue stick and sewed some lines from the base line to the top. No slipping anymore. And the wire and beads were sewn by hand.

Next point was, how do you send a card that has only a few 3-D objects applied to it. I stuffed the envelope with some bubblewrap and there you are!
Higher postage here in Germany, though, as the envelope is thicker than for a standard letter.
But at least the beads shouldn't press through the envelope.
